Flowers and Pearls

Hello girls (and fellow crafters)

So... looking for ideas this morning I turned to my trusted 'Inspiration Jar' to help me out. I pulled out the following:
  1. Use a Recently Purchased Digital Stamp
  2. Use lots of flowers (on DP, Prima, stamp or charms) I used them on EVERYTHING!
  3. Add lots of bling, gems or pearls (or both)
  4. Colour combi is PINK and ... (one other colour)
So... without further ado, here is what I came up with that I thought I would share with you.  I am entering this card into the Passion 4 Promarkers challenge which this week is, 'Let it Shine' (make a card with bling).

The image is called 'Coco and flowers' and is from the Digi Stamp Boutique. I love these cute little bears. They're 99p each but you can buy FOUR for £3.50 so, of course, I had to have them all (thank heavens for pay day!!!).

Anyway, back to the card: I coloured Coco with Promarkers Tan and Sandstone. The flowers and grass were coloured with Blossom, Pale Yellow, Forest Green, Pear Green and Grass.  The background paper is by Pink Petticoat from the 'Vintage Rose Collection' and that was a freebie with this months Quick Cards Made Easy magazine. Gorgeous eh? I used the Big Shot to cut the image out using a Circle nestie and then made the silver mount with my new Beaded Circles nestie. I then added mini adhesive pearls to the scalloped edges.

To complete the card I mounted some more silver paper to the left of the card and added some swirls, diamante flowers, prima flowers and jewelled brads (which I got for a bargain of 49p from Hobbycraft in the clearance sale). Finally topping off with a birthday greeting from Craftwork Cards.

Hope you like?

Thanks for stopping by on this gorgeously sunny Sunday.

Pink and Black Valentine

Hi Girls (and fellow crafters)

Just a little something I thought I would share with you that I put together for St Valentine. I decided to make a card for the Penny Black challenge 'January Sales'.

I bought the Spellbinders Nestabilities (Beaded Circles) and the Martha Stewart heart punch in Watford Market, from my friend Sue, and also the new Card Candy by Craftwork Cards (so glad that Sue has started selling these there too...yipppeeeee!). The Penny Black stamp 'Aren't you lovely?' I have had for a while but haven't used for a long time. Oh, and the ribbon was bought in the January Sales at Hobbycraft too. The lovely cherub charm, was a prezzie from Mum, who got them in Tesco.

So, I stamped the image onto plain white card and then cut it out with the largest of the Beaded Circles Nesties. I then coloured him in with my ProMarkers: Blossom, Rose Pink, Black, Ice Grey 3, Cool Grey 3 and Cool Grey 5. I then got a red coloured pencil and shaded certain parts of the hearts on the bow tie. I then put the three colours Card Candy around the scalloped edges of the die cut image.

Next, I cut a strip of Pink Petticoat white and pink polka dot paper and used my MS heart border punch to cut the top and the bottom of the strip. I did the same with the black mirri card, making sure that the mirri card was slightly thicker than the pink so that both strips of hearts would be seen. Once that was mounted I attached my long piece of 'kisses' ribbon which I wound around the card twice and tied in a knot, once I had attached the silver cherub. I then mounted the die cut image to the whole thing to another piece of the white and pink polka dot paper and mounted that again onto a piece of card.

I then made the easel base. I mounted some more white and pink paper onto some black mirri card and left a thin border around the edge. I then cut a thin strip of black mirri card and border punched it as before. I printed out my 'sentiment of the month' 'If I tell you I love you... can I keep you forever?' from Create with TLC and mounted that with foam pads. Finally, I cut out a white heart by hand and ran that through my Big Shot using the Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and stuck it to the top right hand corner of the sentiment. Et voila! Job done!

I am really pleased with how this card came out and hope you will like it too.

When nothing goes right...

Sorry... me again!

This is a card I have made for Mo's Digital 'It's a Color' Challenge.  This week her 'Design Team Member', Elaine, challenges us to make a card using only Red, Yellow, Orange and Neutrals (i.e. Black, White, Off-White). So I made a card using just those colours on a white base card.

I, of course, used one of Mo's Digital images and coloured him in orange PJ's with red stars and a red dressing gown. The box of tissues is yellow as is his hair. The sentiment is from Create with TLC 'When nothing goes right...go left' which is perfect for when you're not feeling very well and nothing seems to go well. I added some DP from My Mind's Eye 'Bright Dots' paper stack. and some orange and yellow flowers.

The base card is 6" x 6" and was a recent purchase from HERE. They supply excellent quality card stock (among other things) at VERY reasonable prices. Pop on over and take a look for yourself.

Hope Mo and her DT like it?

Thanks for visiting me today.

One for the Girls... and Boys

Hi girls... me again
These are two cards I have made using the same Mo Manning image 'Kai is One'. Although Mo has created two images, 'Kai Girl and Kai Boy' I bought Kai boy as I thought I would get away with colouring the same image in blue as well as pink. Anyway, I'll let you be the judge on that one. Here are the cards I created using the one image:

I coloured them both using my ProMarker pens.  The pink card is a 5" by 5" and the blue card is a C5 gatefold card.

What do you think? Do you think the same image works for both genders? I think so? And I am really pleased with how both of these cards turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Love Boat

Hi girls and fellow crafters

Here's another card that I have finally got around to editing.

This card was made using my new Country Companions set that I got for Christmas and this one has the loveboat included. What a sweet image, course... this would never happen where I live, unless the River Colne broke it banks, the only way I would manage to get Steve in a boat is if his other option was drowning!!! Nevertheless, it's a cute image and I really enjoyed colouring it in.  Another thing I love about these Country Companions clear stamps is that they stamp so well. Although... HINT: with the little text images (as you can see in the ladybugs message card on the bottle) you don't have to use quite so much pressure and it's best to stamp a few testers before stamping it into the text box, to get the pressure right.

I coloured the image in with my ProMarkers and then added some glitter STICKLES over the top of the water. I added a charm and a sentiment to finish.  The background DP is from the My Minds Eye 'Bright Dots' Collection.

Hope you like it.

Can I Keep You FOREVER?

Hi girls, here's a card I made for the Tiddly Inks challenge 'QUOTE ME'.

Is it just me or did January just flash by in a wink??? But hey, on the bright side, after a (what seems like a very) long month waiting for PAY DAY, it's finally coming this Friday! I got my December wages on the 17th December (as I work in a school) and therefore, it has been an excrutiatingly LONNNNNNNG month waiting to get paid.

Anyway, without further ado, here's my card.

I used a Tiddly Ink digi and coloured him with my ProMarker pens. The sentiment was from Create with TLC which is just lovely. I might even make a similar card for my hubby this Valentine's. Although I am generally a doggie person, I just love this cute cat.

The background paper is from Craftwork Cards and has a really subtle shimmer to it, although unfortunately you can't see this in the photograph very well.

This card won TOP FIVE in the Tiddy Inks Challenge

Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by

Get Well Soon...Sarn

Hi ladies and fellow crafters
Well... now that she has finally received it, I can show you a card that I made for my good friend Sarn, that I posted to her via snail mail recently. And... it really was SNAIL MAIL (I posted it on Friday and it arrived today...why the hell do we spend the extra cash on First Class postage when it still takes the same amount of time as SECOND class postage??? AND... how long WOULD it have taken if I had posted it SECOND CLASS???)

When I text her last week she said that she was feeling a little under the weather and a bit poorly (sniffles and flu like symptoms) so I thought I would send her a goody package to cheer her up.  I sent her some clear stamps that were really cute and came as a freebie with my Card Making & Papercraft magazine (I had two copies) and I enclosed the magazine also together with a variety of sweeties.

Here's the card I made for her...

Sarn text me about an hour or two ago to say that the package had arrived and that it had definitely put a smile on her face (and cheered her up). Ahhh, I'm really glad Sarn. Glad I made you forget your cold, for a little while anyway.

Sending hugs to anyone who is feeling poorly today, yesterday or tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by.

Loving Life...

Hi girls,

Thought I would like to share with you all, a card I made to enter in a couple of blog challenges this week.

I started by choosing a colour scheme. The Tiddly Inks Challenge is called 'Just Be Me', basically a card to describe ME, so my colour scheme had to be aqua blue.  I chose this lovely image from Tiddly Inks as, if you live in England, you have to either love or hate the rain... and I love it (as long as the wind isn't blowing with it... I love to just feel it falling on my face, whether it's soft, fine rain or hard rain, it's all good. But I DO prefer hard rain). I love the sound. This image is also good for me because I love to splash in puddles, despite being 38 years old. Just because I'm in my 30's why should I stand by and watch my son have all the fun??? The sentiment, by TLC, is also a good one for me, because no matter whether it's is my kids or Steve, I love having them by my side. No matter what. The little girl with the basket of love is me too, my friends are always saying to me that despite what the weather or life throws at me, I always have a happy disposition and am always smiling or giving out hugs etc, so this card really is 'Me'.

For the ProMarker entry, I used the following colours: Blush and Ivory; Soft Green, Ice Grey 1, Cool Grey 3 and 5, Umber, Henna and Cinnamon, Cardinal Red and Ruby

Challenges entered:
Tiddly Inks Blog Challenge 'Just Be Me'
ProMarker Challenge 'All You Need is Love'

Thanks for taking the time to visit me this evening. Hope to see you again soon.

You got knocked up!!!

Hello fellow crafters
S'me again...

This time I was asked to make a card for a friend of a colleague from work, Anita. Her friend Claire has just found out she is having a baby so Anita wanted me to make her a card, and the inside wording says "You got knocked up... NO Tequila for a YEAR!!!"

Anyway, she told me what she wanted and I put my interpretation on it. I will give it to her at work tomorrow, so I hope she likes it?

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

Get well soon K-Bo

Hi everyone
I made this card this morning for my good friend Kathy, who is going into hospital tomorrow to have a carpel tunnel operation on her wrist. She has already had the left wrist done iny August/September and now she is going back to have the right wrist done. Hope everything goes well for you Kathy and that we'll see you back at work sometime soon.

I made the card using my Woodland Friends stamp sets from Docrafts. I chose my stamp and stamped it onto watercolour card as I wanted some nice textured card.  I then added colour with my promarker pens and added just a little touch of my dotty background and some glitter. The closeup picture is slightly better as you can see more detail on the stamped background.

Card is in the post K-Bo.  I hope you like it?

Hodge Podge Blog Challenge

Sorry guys, it seems that this Challenge will not be happening until 13th January 2011 as due to the Christmas Period, the current challenge will last a little longer, so, as I cannot delete this posting, here it is, a little advanced warning about the upcoming challenge.

Here is my challenge card for the Hodge Podge Challenge, 'White on White (with a hint of...) mine is pink!

I used one of HP images, which I printed off and added 'If friends were flowers... I'd pick you' beneath.

I then added some pink with my new Copics and added the white and pink flowers, a white ribbon, a greeting (from Craftwork Card) and some pins. Job done! Hope you like it and I look forward to seeing your cards in this weeks challenge.

With Sympathy

Hi, thanks for stopping by and visiting me again today.

A friend, Jane, in my office, lost her Brother-in-Law at the beginning of this week. The news of his death was a big shock as he seemed fine over the Christmas and New Year period, and to make matters worse, he died on the 1 year Anniversary of their father's death!!!

So I made a little card from myself and the other staff in my office to give her, so that she would know that we were thinking of her and her family at this sad time.

Also, Wendy, also from my office, has had to go to Great Yarmouth, as her mother took ill on Thursday morning and got the call to go up there to be with her. She has been ill for a while and has been in hospital on a number of occasions during the past year, but fortunately, has pulled through and recovered each time. We are thinking of you Wendy and wish your mother a speedy recovery and hope that she will be back home soon.

Thanks for visiting.

Twilighters BEWARE!!!

Hi girls, Sharon's daughter, Erin, is TWELVE years old tomorrow so Sharon asked me if I wouldn't mind making her a Twilight card. So I went to www.dragoart.com and found out how to draw the Twilight character Chibi's... what do you think? It took me a few attempts to get Jacob right and Edward's coat but I think I got there okay in the end and I am really pleased with how the card came out.

Anyway, hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Happy 12th Birthday Erin, hope you have a good day, despite being at school, although it is only half a day. Shame it's not for us office girls though... enjoy your day.

Lover's Lane Roses

Hi girls
Another card for you today, this time using the Country Companions 'Lover's Lane' Stamp Set from Docrafts (another of my Crimbo pressies). The stamp set consists of 22 pieces just the same as the Woodland Friends Sets I have and basically you just create your own scene. This is one that I started with last night, but there's going to be a lot more coming, these stamps are a joy to use.

Sometimes, you can buy clear stamps and the stamped image can be blurred or rough edged where the actual clear material they have used is not as firm as it could be for the pressure of stamping. These are spot on for my personal level of pressure that I use when stamping so they're great.

Anyway, here's my card from Lover's Lane, Country Companions.

First Card of 2011

Wahooooo, welcome to 2011 everyone and thanks for stopping by and visiting me. I have just finished my FIRST card of the year. I have a good feeling about this year so let's hope it's a good one for all. I am still full of cold and so is Steve but I've had it for so long now that I am not prepared to let it get me down any longer. So 'ner' cold and flu symptoms, on your bike! Enough is enough.

Here's my card, which I made with my Woodland Friends stamps. First of all I decided which stamps I was going to use and then stamped up the background. I then coloured it with my ProMarkers and then coloured and decoupaged the fox and the badger over the top.

I then mounted it onto bubble, silver mirri card and then mounted some scrap green DP and mounted that onto the same bubble mirri card and then put them all together. The Card Candy was then coloured in with the same colours that I used on the tree and added to the top and the bottom of the card.

The thing I like most about using these stamp sets is that no two scenes look the same, you can just put what you want where you want and create all the different backgrounds and foregrounds you like. Hope YOU like it? It's for my friend Karen's hubby, Terry. He will be FIFTY on the 4th January 2011.

Congratulations Tezza. Hope you have a good one xxx

Lots of love, hugs and kisses
Fae xxx
